Every spring, just as the mountains of Colorado begin to thaw, the desert beckons and we migrate west to warm our toes. With pleasantly hot day time temperatures, cool, starry nights and the Colorado River beginning to rise, we kick off our river season with one of our favorite events. The Moab Back of Beyond stand up paddle board race is one-day race filled with music, vendors, swag and river friends from all around, from beginners to the elite and everyone in between.
// Not only is the Back of Beyond a fun and exciting event for racers, it provides a perfect opportunity to paddle the river with friends old and new, taking advantage of the 20+ miles of the Colorado River section known as the “Moab Daily.” Flowing through the magnificent red rock canyons of Castle Valley, past Fisher Towers, the “Daily” winds along Highway 128 from Dewey Bridge to Takeout beach and eventually to Moab. Here are some of our favorite moments from this year’s Moab Back of Beyond.
